I use a Windows as my media box and home server. At some point I made changes to something because my iphone stopped being able to connect to the box from file-explorer (netbios/samba/SMB file sharing / transfer app).
Can any power users help me try and diagnose what's going on?
I installed a second app on my iphone to see if it was app specific but it's not, neither can connect to the share. Both come back with a similar but not telling error "network error." Neither can connect to the windows share. Other windows and mac computers on my network can. The phone isn't "blocked" because I can open up safari and hit web services being hosted on that box.
I've checked windows firewall to make sure that the SMB ports aren't blocked and the IP for my phone isn't blocked either.
I don't know what else to try and troubleshoot.
Any thoughts / suggestions?
