I put Ubuntu 13.10 on Dell laptop Studio 17/1749 which also has installed Window 7 Home Premium.

Dual Boot

As my friend does like Ubuntu please could you advise the way to either remove Ubuntu or have the Laptop start up in windows as default.

Thanks for any help

Kind regards,

Hi,

If i understand correctly, your friend DO NOT want Ubuntu. Is that correct? If yes, please follow these steps:
Left click on Start - Right click on Computer - Left Click on Properties. On the left click on Advanced System Settings. Under Startup and Recovery, click on Settings. In the next window under System startup, you would find Default Operating System. From the dropdown, you can chose the default OS and also choose if you want to directly boot to Windows 7 without displaying both the OS.

Thank you Edwin for your help.

We have deleted partitions that Ubuntu used and modifed the master boot record so that it only sees Windows 7.

Thanks anyway

regards,

Richard
