Title says it all. Here is the first one

Face the facts of being what you are, for that is what changes what you are.

“A man reserves his true and deepest love not for the species of woman in whose company he finds himself electrified and enkindled, but for that one in whose company he may feel tenderly drowsy.”

Hey now! It's quote of the day not Quotes of the day so doesn't that mean a limit of one quote per 24 hour period? Save that enthusiasm for tomorrow :p

/me ponders two couples "Jan & Ken" on opposite sides of the globe but posting in the same thread? What are the odds?

"All I need is a little food, a little water, and a little every so often"

Glad you asked. It does indeed mean one per day per person, for the most part

As to the {Jan & Ken} we are partners in crime and do quotes on many many sites together.

With quote it is a good idea to put the author so no plagiarism can occur.

Absolutely.
Food for thought when using quotations. -

Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
Bernard Baruch in response to a question by Igor Cassini as to how he handled the seating arrangements at his dinner parties, as quoted in Shake Well Before Using: A New Collection of Impressions and Anecdotes Mostly Humorous (1948) by Bennett Cerf, p. 249; the full response was "I never bother about that. Those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter." This anecdote is also quoted online at Chiasmus.com. It has also become part of a larger expression, which has been commonly attributed to Dr. Seuss, even in print, but without citation of a specific work: "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.

Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed.

The most valuable things in life are not measured in monetary terms.
The really important things are not houses and lands, stocks and bonds, automobiles and real state, but friendships, trust, confidence, empathy, mercy, love and faith.

Bertrand Russell (1872-1970) British logician and philosopher.

Come live with me and be my love, and we will some new pleasures prove,

After thousands of hours talking, 730 days, and many many smiles

.

"I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you."

Your Ken

You want to smile, get her to send you some Tim Tams or some flavors of Twisties. I've also tried vegemite but it's a bit salty IMO.

“Live life fully while you're here.
Experience everything.
Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird.
Go out and screw up!
You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process.
Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.”

French proverbs.

“Hope is the dream of a soul awake.”

“Fortune helps him that's willing to help himself.”

When you stop putting yourself on the line, and you don't touch your own heart, how do you expect to touch other people?
