Hi all
Across the past few months, and as my real ISP email address seems to have escaped onto the web years ago, I've been getting fed up with phishing emails from, all the major banks, and despite fiddling with adding zen_spamhaus_org into AVG RBL list, and other blocking tweaks, I was still getting the bank phishing emails,
so a couple of days ago, I've been collecting the up the IP addresses from the email headers, WhoIs'ing them, e.g. "66_212_193_25" and adding the whole range e_g_ "66_212_193_0 - 66_212_193_255" into my AVG's email / Anti-Spam "ignored IP address list, which has worked wonders, for the time being at least.
So, here's the list I've added in :-
"10_110_33_151"
"8_6_117_25"
"195_222_140_73"
"195_222_140_73"
"8_6_122_06"
"24_180_253_0-24_180_253_255"
"216_93_242_32-216_93_242_63"
"66_212_193_0-66_212_193_255"
"37_187_0_0-37_187_255_255"
"62_84_188_192-62_84_188_199"
"91_238_164_0-91_238_165_255"
"187_86_128_0-187_86_143_255"
"91_238_164_0-91_238_165_255"
"85_236_148_0-85_236_149_255"
"8_0_0_0-8_255_255_255"
and touch wood, for the time being at least, no more bank phishing emails …or maybe AVG diverts them to my Windows Live Mail Junk folder,
…not sure how AVG's Email Protection | Anti-Spam | Expert Settings | Filtering | Blocked IP's works ?!?
comments ?
regards, Richard
ps had to replace dots with underscores as was told I had a sneaky URL in there when I tried tried to create thread !!
