parallel printer does not work

I installed a rosewill RC-302 parallel port card to support my trusty HPPCS 500. I installed the correct printer driver but all I get is an error when I try a test page.

I downloaded the parallel card driver but not sure it installed. I read that win7 would auto detect it but nother ever displayed even after powering off and on.

Any ideas?

In control panel > all control panel items > devices and printers does your printer show ?

You may need to go into your printer's properties and select the correct port for it. Since most printers don't use parallel ports anymore.

Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Devices and Printers - Right Click on the Printer - Printer Properties - Ports Tab - Look for LPT ports
