Outlook 2010

My system deployes two user accounts, administrator and standard user. Ordinariry I would be working under the standard user account. However I have now discovered that when receiving/sending messages in Outlook, and then proceed to delete or move incoming / outgoing mail, Outlook in the Adminstrator user account profile is fully populated with all the sent and received mails. Surely, if I move/delete these mails, it should do so in the Outlook pregram, irrespective of which profile.
I would appreciate comment and how to correct this if possible.

What is your current e-mail setup? Are you using a POP3 or IMAP server to receive mails? It sounds like you've got Outlook set up to use the same e-mail account on both username, but to leave the messages on the server.

Assuming it is two separate datafiles, you can tell Outlook to remove an e-mail from the server if it's totally deleted from your system. You'll need to view the advanced e-mail account settings and check the box for "Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'".

Alternatively, you could get both accounts to share the same datafile - this would probably work too.

I am indeed using a POP3 server. I only did the setup once so I must assume that it is the same on both user accounts.
I now did "deleting from server when deleted " thing, but, even if I delete mail from the standard user account, I still find all the mail back in the inbox when I move to administrator user account. The annoying thing is that if mail comes through whilst I am in the admin user account and I "file" the mail I want to retain in the appropriate heading, I cannot find it under the same heading when I go back to the standard user account.
It seems that I am forced to go to the admin user account if I want to remove/add a program. I wish I could get rid of this whole user/admin business as I am the only user of my computer and no-one else has access to it.
I do not understand the last suggestion of sharing the same data file. How do I do that.

Regarding your outlook Isuue ( which also has to do with windows as well):

If you are the only user .. why do you have 2 user accounts ???

Myself,,I only have ONE account and I am the admin 100% (kind of LOL all the way thru my system ) that PART of your problem.. Just because you get rid of one thing on an acount on a system DOES NOT MEAN that it gets rid of it SYSTEM WIDE...

Yes I HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN ... just worked on a system the other day .. they had 2 Accounts .. BOTH ADMINS and what one did DID NOT reflect what the other one did. .

Which is one of the resaons why when I do re do a system I make it ONE ACCOUNT ONLY ... is due to the fact of the "ghosting" between accounts.. Even if it is "dual admins"

If the person wants to make another acount( especially if its a second Admin account) I tell them to make sure they go on BOTH"sides" of the system to get rid of the "garbage" that the other account MAY collect.


"Deleting from server" is just that .. its delting from you MAIL SERVER(Gmail Hotmail,Windows live , etc.) ..NOT from your system.

Thanks LoneWolf, this is what I like to hear. Get rid of Admin. I really don't need the hassle. However, how do I delete it. Just right click and delete. Does it affect any other settings and can I, without an Admin accoun make software/harwar changes without being told that I have no authority? Please advise me on this as I do not want to craete other problems due to my lack of knowledge. Thanks again

Regarding user accounts: ( this is gonna be a bit long)

Im assuming you are using Win 7 (of course or you wouldnt be here LOL )

In win 7 to get rid of User accounts:
>>= click

>>Start orb , in the run (or search box) type "User accounts"(with out quotes) then >> Manage another account

In there you SHOULD see all the accounts that are available on your machine ...
( in mine i see 3.. My personal admin, ASP.net(gonna look that one up and see if it is 100% necessaray) and Guest account)

you can also change the credentials of ANY account that is available(or allowed) to be changed ..


You can also select one from there and do "Delete account"

POINT OF NOTE **** when you delete that account ALL SETTING AND FILES from that sepecific acccount WILL be removed THEORETICALLY(unless they are already saved on another . If you have anything under that account that you want to save .. SAVE IT.. BEFORE you delete that account ...or else it WILL be lost ..

In order to make SOFTWARE changes .. you DO need an admin account ... and yes UAC ( User Acess Control) MAY still "bug you" as to doing changes.. but that can be set a certain way ..

OR

Thier IS a nice piece of software available to be able to shut that(UAC) off TOTALLY ... ( i had to use it for one of my games that is xp/vista based so i didnt get nagged by it .. unless you want to do registry edits... (which im not 100% knowledgable about therefor I wont give that advice but i can supply the software .. unless its already availble here in ther Free ware database)

Hardware changes(sucha as adding memory or a new hard drive or a new video card) ,, you can do that "till the cows come home" with any account.. the Admin is for software changes ..

So as I said you DO want to have an Admin account for specifically that(software) reason ,,

Microsoft Outlook

Thank you again LoneWolf. When I get to see all accounts that are available (Guest, Admin and Standard) I cannot delete the Admin account, only the Standard account. The guest account is not used. If I delete the Standard account, I suppose I could change the function of the Admin to Standard. Correct?? The problem I had before is that I had to have a Standard account to make my gadgets - which I find handy - work as I could not install them on my Admin account. It seems to me it is either the one or the other. Any way to overcome this?
Sorry to go on and on, but this thing buggs me. It is the onbe aspect of W7 I find not very user friendly. But thanks again

Deleting accounts

Standard accont is just what it says ... depends ont he setting you made for it when you set it up.

To be 100% honest .. alot of this depends on how you exactly intsalled your programs..


If you installed them on your admin account (even if you delete the standard account) .. BUT also allowed them to install for all users.. .. by deleting your "Standard User" that THEORITICALLY shouldnt affect your Admin account ..

HOWEVER ... if you went the opposite way .. (standard to all users) they YES it will affect all accounts ...


Some programs will give you a "promt" to "uninstall from just this user"

If you go that route FIRST ... then that SHOULD protect the settings going into the admin account ... MInd you NO PROMISIES .. you might still as mentiuoned ahve to reinstall your programs..

either way you have to in a way remeber how you installed the programs else you WILL have to install your programs..

In a way its "trial and error" ... some times you can get away with it .. some times you can't .. all depends on the prorams and how you installed them.

Thank you. Yes it makes sense, but I see it requires an amount of cautious experimentation. I will need to take the time for this and also need to escape the present high temperatures of 32 C+, which make using a computer unpleasant.
