Multi posting v.s. Crossposting ?

Excuse me if I haven't read all this thread. I've tried to, but, well, I
can't be sure.
Is it still true that some newsreader clients will mark a post as read
in all the groups if it was crossposted? Which won't happen, of course,
with multi-posted.

Yes. I can also set mine to delete them without reading *any* of the copies
- since nearly all junk mail writers crosspost it tidies things up nicely.

Yes, mine does that. Actually I'd be more likely to mark it as
"uninteresting", which is not the same as "read", but the same applies.

Which won't happen, of course, with multi-posted.
