Inernet Explorer no longer has Frequent Sites when right click on Taskbar Icon

My wife has started complaining that all the recent sites do not
appear when she right clicks the Task Bar IE Icon (IE8), Windows 7 x64
Home Premium.

This appears to have happened since installation of SP1.

She used to have 'Pinned', 'Frequent', 'Tasks' on the menu.

Now there is only Pinned and Tasks.

We have not disabled them

Anyone have any idea what could have happened to lose the option

Installing SP1 did NOT cause your problem.

Something your or your wife did caused the loss of the option.

We assume that, but what was done to change it. We have not made any
changes that we know of.

How do we get the option back. I have searched all the places that I
can think of without success.

Thanks

How do I do that. It does not appear in list of programs installed,
Well if you had entered "reinstall repair internet explorer" into a
search engine like Google for example you might have found this:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378

Would have had the results in less than 3 seconds rather than waiting
a whole day for someone else to do it for you...

I'm missing some of this thread so I don't know if it's been answered. Don't
know if you've tried this but right click on the Start Button and go to
Properties and ensure that Store Recently Opened Items in the Start Menu &
the Task Bar is ticked. Far from being 'something you and your wife have
done' this option was unticked when I first got my netbook so it could well
have been switched off by the Service Pack.

Thanks for the answer, but they are both ticked. The problem I have
refers only to Internet Explorer. I have MS Word and EXcel pinned to
the taskbat and they show the recent items OK. It is only Internet
Explorer were it is missing.
