If the machine runs Vista then Windows 7 will almost certainly run on
it. I'm typing this from a Toshiba notebook that is now obsolescent and
which also came with Vista but is now running W7 quite happily.
What makes you think that your Acer is not upgradable to W7?

Acer had/has upgrades for about 99% of their models, of which mine is
one, that they do not and have not an upgrade for upgrade for.
Also when I run a Vista, Windows7 upgrade, I'm told that it's not
upgrade able.... Seem the hardware is proprietary.

It's an Acer Aspire 5315-2122.... with the dog of a Vista!

I would imagine he means it did not come with a free upgrade to w7.

When I run the Upgrade, it's not available for that model.

I would buy it, if it would install, however from all reports it may
