I figure a little over one more week, we will be within the top 6000 team ranks. :)

If my calculations are correct we pass 6000 stopping at 5990 with 343,009 Points and 328 Work Units. ExtremeOverclocking.com updates every 3 hours, so we should be able to see something in a few hours.

When the image shows everything should be good to go. :)

:congrats:

I took down all my machines earlier for maintenance and to create new BU images. I'll be doing a processor upgrade in one of them in the next day or 2. So you can't count on me for any new results for the next 18 - 24 hours.

I'll be back.:)

I've got both computers folding now, the notebook is running at 100%, and the desktop is running at 55%. I tried that high performance client on here, but it just doesn't have the power to run it, and it was doing nothing but making it run hot. However, it did look good on the screen. I even tried running it in Mint to see if it would do better, but I couldn't get it to install.

That's the problem with Linux OS's. Some of them are really good, and Mint has over 20,000 apps in their repositories to download. If I can work "within the system", I'm good, but trying to download something off the net, and installing it, can be one PITA. But that doesn't stop me from using it, one day I'll learn.

I'll be glad to see our team make our goals. Hopefully, soon I'll have a higher performance computer to work with. And mabye a few more will join the team, it's not too late to jump abroad.

I stopped folding a couple of weeks or so ago. Did a lot of reinstalling and stuff, and just never got around to it. I'll try to remember to get it going again.

It would seem we may need to complete one Work Unit now that the site is tracking the Team before we are tracked as well.
OK further research revealed that the user statistics are not available until about 2,600,000 points :(, I was hoping for them now. We will have to make due with the Team Statistics for now.

No pressure core, we appreciate anything you can contribute. :) Speaking of which, I think we need to talk to draceena, make sure everything is setup properly. She can probably make use of the SMP2 Client now that she has a new computer, assuming she is folding on the new rig.

I'll start again once I get around to installing the client again. For the past few days I've been getting my system set up, OS-wise, just the way I like it. I am eager to start folding again, however: I find the Linux client to be slightly more productive than its Windows counterpart.

I'd bet that computer could really fold, if she had the client I tried on it. Mine would do it, but not in the allowed timeframe. So I saw no further point in going on with it.

I'm using Mint 9 x64 as my only "real" OS on my machine. I wiped Linux off the drive entirely a few weeks ago because I got so sick of dual-booting, but they are some Windows-only apps I did not want to part with, so I decided to use Windows full-time. Windows 7 is a great OS, but after a few weeks of using it I was missing Mint. I got so spoiled with how customizable Gnome is... Not to mention multiple workspaces. I decided to see if Windows would run well in a VM, and it was smooooooth... So I wiped the drive, but Mint 9 on it, and now I just run Windows in a VM when I need certain apps. I put the old Mac Mini in the living room, hooked it up with speakers and a static IP over wireless, and control iTunes via VNC (which is constantly at the ready on its own workspace). This has completely refreshed my computing experience for me.

Core that awesome. :)

I really should try one of Linux OS. I've never used anything other than Windows before.

I run 7 Home Basic through Virtualbox in Mint 9 64 bit, you can't even tell it's running in a VM, it's that good. I thought of installing a folding program on that, but I've never folded in a VM, and it would probably push my CPU really high, making my desktop very hot for nothing. I run it on Ultimate on my desktop, and have it installed on 7 Pro, Vista SP2 & XP Pro on my notebook. It runs better on XP than the other two.

I know what you mean; if I put the VM in fullscreen mode, my wife wouldn't know the difference between that and a real Windows installation.

I think you made the right call about not folding in the VM, though.

Hmmm, I thought I downloaded and was running the proper client. Would you mind posting a direct link to it here as I'd love to get my conputer (and scores) up to speed.

You maybe running the proper client.

Did you download the High Performance SMP2 6.29 Console Client?
For 64-bit the MPICH Client is required, DEINO Client is 32-bit only.

The client download will self extract to a work folder. From this folder there will be an install.bat which you will need to run and configure your client with Windows login Username and Password (Assuming you are running the client under Windows). Then the client will need to be run to configure the SMP2 Client. Remember to add the "-SMP" flag for extra parameters. This will allow the Client to use all CPU cores. And then a Passkey is required to claim the Bonus points that are given after completing 10 work units.

draceena, the high performance client looks different from the standard, and you get a lot of points for completed work units, provided you meet the deadline. The high performance clients only gives you three days to complete, and if you meet it, you're rewarded with huge amounts of points. I tried it on my desktop, but a Athlon X2, 64 bit (AMD) isn't capable of running it at a speed fast enough to meet the deadline.

Which is the reason when I buy another notebook, I'm making sure that I get one that has the power to do it. I know there's high performance ones on the market that I don't have to pay a thousand bucks for, but I do need to do some research as to what to buy. One thing for sure, it won't be a Dell, period.

Yep, that is the one I am using. I followed the instructions to the letter and when it's running I see all 4 cores of my CPU hit 100%

I installed a neat program called FAHMon that tells me the F@H percentage completed as well as the date downloaded, date to be completed by, average Points Per Day and how many points the current job will give you when completed (mine is saying 470 points for the job I am currently on).
