Are there any articles that you'd particularly like to see on W7 Forums? If so, let me know in here and I'll see what I can do :)

I should have more time to write some next week, and I'll be adding a mixture of basic how-to's and more in-depth articles on Windows 7 features.

Topics I've got on my to-do list include:
  • Explanation of UAC modes
  • XPM (XP compatibility mode)
  • Repair install walk-through
I'm also considering getting a freelance writer for some specialist topics, but I need to look in to that some more to find out the current expected rates.

You'll find the rates vary WILDLY, but I averaged $00.42 USD per word when I did a few pieces for Smart Computing Magazine. I don't know how that compares to the rest of the industry, but I was pretty thrilled by it. Heh.

I was under the impression that a repair install, like Vista, was not possible unless the OS booted? Is this wrong?

Wow, I didn't realise the price was that high! Good going :D I think I'll probably just write as many as I can if that's the going rate for writers.

I think you're right about the repair install, you need to run it once you're in Windows - it's a shame that you can't do it from boot as that's when it's going to be of use in most cases. Startup repair does a good job for minor things though.

FWIW, I also had no earthly idea that freelance rates were so high. D:
