news.mozilla.org, it's a private server, you'll need to set up your
newsreader for that server, then look for the group:
mozilla.support.thunderbird

Stan Brown said:That *is* the problem -- it's a program, and it can't be installed
in the standard Windows 7 location for programs.
That's not the only problem, of course. The editor is annoying,
and there were plenty of other problems too. The incompatibility
with Windows 7 was the last straw for me.
Believe me when I say that Agent is by far, the best reader.
Even the earlier versions as far back as1.xx..... were highly praised.
I still have ver. 2.0 on another box....
Oh yes I did.....and nothing worked. There was nada under
View-Thread-Unread that I could see. I may be a novice with T-bird,
Sunshine, but I am not a novice with OE.

Look at this post. See how it looks like you said the paragraph starting
with "Yes, I agree"?
Do not post to USENET with WLM2011,

OK so I (maybe) messed up separating quotes from my reply.
I did try. I just wasn't good enough for you, or you didn't like -- or
didn't understand -- the way I did it.

Exact same screwed up situation happened here also when I tried it out.
As fast as I installed Thunderbird it is as fast that I uninstalled it
Where is the FM for Thunderbird? Its "Help" system is one of the biggest
barriers tho' I have learned to use it some. In newsgroups especially,
even if I am an inveterate mouser, I find ALT-vea: View all and ALT-veu:
View unread rather useful. It took me a while to find the toggle m for
mark read/unread but it's also a well-used command.
Thanks Peter........glad to know I am not alone re Thunderbird. I never
did like Agent (in the good old days), so not quite sure which way I will
go with Windows 7. Probably get rid of WLM and either just use Yahoo
webmail
I hate change!! (G) Getting too old for it!!
Nor can any other program that needs access to Windows protected
files. Not a problem at all.
It's not incompatible, regardless of your opinion.
Stan said:One hopes that it rejects them, since Usenet is a plain-text medium.

In the old days yes, now a days a lot of people post in html,
and if we are going to survive we might need to allow it.
There is advantages to that format as well.

I'm glad you are happy with Pegasus, but there's no getting around
the fact that a program should not write to Program Files after
the initial installation, and it does.
Lord he is another chrisv boasting about his plonk and running.Yes, I'm impatient with people such as yourself who blame software for
their own shortcomings.
Keep on believing hogwash... that's typical of you and those like you.
I'll bet you'd be happier in my Bozo Bin with more like you!
Big Steel said:Lord he is another chrisv boasting about his plonk and running.
But it has an e-mail facility. Obviously HTML should not be used in Usenet.

It's basic courtesy to tell someone you've plonked them, it keeps them
from replying.
Nobody who's earned my killfile has anything worthwhile to say, that's
why they're in there!
Big Steel said:Sure you are right.Just last week, you boasted about plonking
me. I guess that was a lie.![]()
Hi Lee......glad to see I am not the only one who detests that program.Lee Waun said:I also hate Thunderbird. I couldn't find a way when I used it to
killfile anyone. So I went back to the WLM 2009 version which is not
messed up in the newsgroup department.
