Mate,

Please keep Windows Defenders virus patterns updated. And maybe install Malwarebytes. Just keep it simple at this stage until we clear the crashes.

Could they be conflicting? Not really, because windows defender will disable if another AV is installed. But Avast seems to have problems with updating it's binaries. So it is easier to remove it until the crashes clear.
