What is win2k_xp.exe doing on my computer?
N/A Non-system processes like win2k_xp.exe originate from software you
installed on your system. As most applications store data in your
system's registry, it is likely that your registry has suffered
fragmentation and accumulated harmful errors.
Have you searched for the file on your hard drive ?

If you right click the file, and do "Properties", does the
executable have Corporation information in it, giving some
hint who supplied it ?

Thanks Bob and Paul.

I didn't even download it. It seemed very mysterious to me.

Looks familiar to me. Is it an old fix for the anomaly of the date rolling
over at the start of year 2000? Though I thought they were only issued for
Windows NT, 95, 98 & 2000.

It's an old driver file, meant to work with Win2k and WinXP. I don't
remember where it is from, maybe intel? Somebody else can check the 4
million hits in their favorite search engine.
