I have recently acquired a new copy (in an unopened box)of Windows 7 Professional in 32bit format. I would like my operating system to be in 64bit format. Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to exchange my 32bit edition for a 64bit edition and if so what I need to do.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You can't "exchange" it but you can download and burn the 64bit Professional DVD and install that, activating it using your legally purchased key that came with your 32-bit copy. Keys are independent of bit-size, all that matters is you get the same edition, in your case Professional.

Many thanks for this. I will download a copy in 64bit and install using the key for my 32bit copy. Again, many thanks.
