Has anybody had trouble with files disappearing from hard drives on
Win7Pro 64bit, after the computer is shut down over night.
Hard drive has partitions C:D:E:F:
There is no trace of them the next day, not ever in recycle bin.
Not all files just odd ones intermittently.

Sometime it will not allow you to save files to the main hard drive
but will let you save to a USB portable hard drive & then copy it back
to main hard drives Ok.

Thank
Ian

You could run a copy of MBAM, and see if anything is amiss in
the malware department.

There are some kind of audit functions you can enable in
Windows 7. It all depends on whether you thought an active
process of some sort, was doing this. Since you have Pro,
it's possible these functions will be available.

Working the problem from another angle, you could run some
file recovery software, and see if the files are present. A
"deleted" file, is not really deleted, until something
overwrites the space, and a recovery program may give you
some idea what is going on.

Probably didn't like the answers and were hoping that a new day would
bring new answers...
