I'm thinking of buying a new 256GB SSD for my Windows 8 and music files, documents, steam games, etc. But I'm somewhat hesitant because I don't want to lose all of the data and reinstall games. How would I move my OS over to a SSD without losing everything on my hard drive? And is 256GB enough for these staffs?

Generally I do not recommend it because your SSD will need drivers to make it function but it may be possible. If you clone the OS hard drive to your SSD and then remove the hard drive you may be able to boot to a W7 Installation disk. Then as long as you can load drivers to access the SSD, the installation disk should be able to do startup repair to fix the boot sector.
