Windows 7 install keeps rebooting

start button > All programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Right Click on command Prompt and select "Run as Administrator> type sfc/scannow
may take a few minutes so grab a beer and wait lol
if any files are corrupt Windows will try to fix them. If Windows cant fix them it will let you know also.

Something screwy is going on here.
I ran the scan from Windows 7.It said it found corruption but couldn't fix it. It did leave a report though. When I tried to access the report I was denied access. I booted up in XP and was able to see the report but it was quite long . i could post it if it would help.
This didn't happen with the beta version. The hard drive I am using is only a few months old.
Another thing, after I ran the scan I coudn't connect to any web sites either.

the corrupt files that sfc/scannow found and could not fix will be all the way at the end of your .CBS log. just post here what that part of the log reports... .cbs is a huge file and may be hard to attach.... then lets see where to go from there.
as for your internet issue.... try resetting IE in internet options. Can you access any webpages with a different browser like firefox or google chrome?
out of curiousity, does sysem restore work?
i would also suggest doing a full (not quick) scan with malwarebytes. if it finds anything let malwarebytes remove/fix it. Run a full scan of your AV program as well. post back if anything was found. thx

The malwarebytes scan came up clean. I ran a thorough scan with my AV and it said I had a Trojan Horse in my pagefile.sys folder. I Googled this and apparently this is a common problem with Avast. I had pretty much the same experience as the poster in this forum did:http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/7123-avast-vs-pagefile-sys-problem.html.
I deleted it and although it is apparently a false positive, so far today Windows 7 is behaving itself.

My apologies for forgetting to tell you about the "Access Denied" error. Its a system file and you have to change the Permissions in order to have access
My Computer > Local Disk (c) > Windows > Logs > CBS
Right Click on the CBS file > Select Properties > Select the Security Tab> Click on the Continue" button > On the Permissions for CBS window, Click "Add" > In the Enter the object names to select, type your name > Click "Check Names" > Click OK
You will now see your name listed in the Permissions for CBS window, Click apply
Another dialog box will appear asking if you are sure you want to change permissions , click Yes
you will now be able to access the CBS log file.

glad to hear that the errors have seem to work themselves out. After looking thru your CBS log it seems that alot of files are missing or corrupt. My suggestion to you would be if you start experiencing alot of issues I would do a Repair Installation. It may replace/repair corrupt or missing files. A repair install works just like a inplace upgrade. All your user setting and files will remain intact.
