One vCard import can turn into a messy phonebook if the VCF file already carries repeated contact records.
This usually happens with old contact backups taken from Gmail, iCloud, Outlook, SIM storage or another phone. The same person may be saved with a small name change, extra email ID or different phone label. During import, the phone may not merge those entries properly and adds them again as separate contacts.
Before importing the file again, clean the VCF first. A trusted tool like WholeClear vCard Duplicate Remover can be useful here because it checks duplicate vCard contacts and helps remove repeated entries without disturbing saved contact details.
Keep your original VCF as a backup, test the file with the free version and then import the cleaned vCard into your phone.
