Vimicro drivers for USB webcams

I was wondering whether anyone had any luck getting drivers for Vimicro webcams working on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit?

These are cheap'n'cheerful webcams based upon the ZC0301 chip.

The company's support site only lists up to Vista compatibility. I've emailed them direct but am not too hopeful of getting a response.

Hi ambriel and Welcome.
Just wondering if you have to install a "program" for the webcam. If so, would running in compatibility mode work?
Do you know the driver 'names'?

Hi Elmer, yes there's a front-end program called amcap that I'm going to have a play with the compatibility settings for. I don't want to be tied to that though, even if it works.

I think I've made some progress with the telescope camera. That's now giving me an image although going into settings sometimes hangs the PC.
