You don't have a CD/DVD drive?

All you need is a cheap USB drive of about 500Mb.
BTW I am on MSN if you want. Look at my profile on the left.

Did you manage to get MS Defender offline to scan your PC?

I only have a couple more idea's:

1/ Control Panel -> Program and Features. Find and select Microsoft .NET. Then Click "repair. Do that for each item that say's Microsoft .NET.

EDIT: 1a/ Control panel -> Troubleshooting. (Anything thing in there about Windows update?)

2/ In place upgrade.

Give number 1 and 1A, a go and let us know how you go.

None of the Microsoft .NET programs say "Repair", only "Uninstall/Change".

I'll give it a shot in the morning when I wake up.

So when I tried to click "Change/Uninstall" the Microsoft .NET 3.5 framework SP1, I got this popup, as well as one telling me I need to go to the control panel and use "Turn Windows features on or off" to change this file.

And I'm currently repairing Microsoft .NET framework 4 client profile.

So the last two I managed fine to repair. But the Microsoft .NET 3.5 framework SP1 hasn't worked. I keep getting the popups I mentioned before.

Here's hoping.

And thank you so much for continuing to help me. :/ This has been a really long process.

I don't know how to turn on/off this thing and have it repair and change the program.

Is that the message you got when you tried to reinstall Microsoft .NET 3.5 framework SP1??

Yes. I got that message both when trying to repair/change it and when trying to install it.

Give this a try:

As for Windows 7, the .NET Framework 3.5.1 is included as system component.
To install/uninstall the .NET Framework 3.5 SP!, you can go to Start menu -> Control Panel -> Programs -> Turn Windows features on or off, unselect the checkbox of the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, click OK. Then open it again, and select the checkbox this time, click OK.

If there are any problems occur during the installation, you can collect the installation log files and analyze them.
You can follow the steps below to collect the log files:
· Try to clean your "%temp%" folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp%).
· Install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 again.
·
