Registry Booster

Any good? It was something I picked up from Freecorder 3, and it scanned 230+ registry errors! I'm pretty paranoid about messing with my registry and they prompted for a purchase after the scan, but I've done nothing about it.

I am always skeptical about a program that scans and then prompts for purchase without doing anything. It's too easy for them to lie just to make you think you need the program. Registry Booster is one program that has always used these tactics.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Likely it'll go in and trash all the crap I've put on this thing trying to get some functionality for a stupid old man.

RegistryBooster absolutely stinks and will most definitely mess up your computer. Uniblue markets it for XP, Vista and 7, but I used it on Vista a few years back and it completely messed up my computer to the point of needing a clean install. Stay away from anything from Uniblue. There software is crap. Try Ccleaner for Registry cleaning instead.

I stay away from ANY software from Uniblue. IT IS JUNK!

Don't read those "registry review websites" either, nearly all of them are sponsored by the software maker and made to look like an independent testing review.

I used to be a big fan Registry Mechanic from PC Tools, but with Windows 7 I don't really need it like I did with XP Pro. Just run CCleaner's registry cleaner and it does an excellent job of tidying up registry.

As Nibs says, Ccleaner is reliable. But if you want to make a noticeable improvement in windows 7 performance, IMHO, defragging the registry will make it sparkle.
I used this program with trepidation at first, but after a long while I have become confident with it. It has not yet harmed my system and, if you have not used a similar program before, you will notice an immediate difference.
