I don't know what software gives that sort of message; perhaps you have an
antivirus program doing it.
Noo it was a windows thingy:(
If you turn UAC off then you will be nagged by the Action Center.
Open Action Center, (right-click the tray icon) > Change Action Center
settings
Once there you can select which messages to turn off.
I have saved this post and will look into it further..

Thanks:)

Yes, I try to remember to do that too.
Of course this fails to deal with sigs in the quoted posts, when a
newsreader doesn't put a quote character in front of them and doesn't
suppress them.

Ophelia - your newsreader is OK, as you can see just above.

BTW, my spellchecker doesn't recognize the name Ophelia, which seems to
me to be a significant oversight...It has other weirdnesses too :)

Heh, I don't think I've ever used one that _wasn't_ goofy. At work, for no
known reason, Outlook is set to use a French dictionary.....so helpful.

C'est pas grave.

I agree with Vetinari's judgment on all spell checkers. It's OK with
me, because at least some of the more bizarre suggestions give me a
good laugh from time to time :)

I might point out that a friend pointed out to me just yesterday that
we should be saying "spelling" checkers, since we're not witches or
warlocks.

Are you certain about that? Heh.

Hmmm.

OK, I'm not. And I guess my friend isn't.

But you may feel free to use a spell checker if required :)

To be honest, I refer to it as "spell check", like many others do. Now, if
only they'd loaded the _English_ dictionary for Outlook. They've got our
computers locked down to the point where most of that sort of thing has to
be changed by our computer gang. Yeah, I guess I'd better put in a ticket,
to get it fixed....eventually.
