Picky, picky, picky.
I can't deny that.

Interestingly, though, as far as spelling goes: I am a lousy typist, yet
Google often finds what I'm searching for in spite of my typos.

Not every search tool is so clever...

I studied Latin some 60 years ago, and if I ever knew that "naive" and
"native" came from the same Latin word, I had forgotten it.

But you reminded me of the sentence" Inter faeces et urinam nascimur."
Now there's an optimistic attitude! And it made me LOL...

Naive came to English through French, which was careless enough to lose
the 't'.

I like it a lot. I even have a T-shirt that says that.

Yes, I know (even though I didn't know it came from the same Latin
root as "native").

Well, to be honest, I really only wanted to make the funny(?) remark
about French being careless :)

I'm in the same boat. My spelling is good but my typing is limited to
two dyslexic fingers. Google has bailed me out a time or two.

Just for laughs, I did a search for Segoi UI and Google returned this:

"Showing results for Segoe UI"

That's too bad. It looks like Google won't let you find "Segoi UI" :)

In the post where I pointed out the error, I was thinking more of
searches in Windows Explorer or Windows Help, which aren't so kind. But
of course, if you're looking for fonts, you probably only have to type
"seg", maybe even only "se" or even just "s".

Google still leaves you the choice of looking for Segoi UI, if you want.
Bing, Yahoo, Ask, and Blekko all correct the spelling, too.

You're ruining my joke :)

(With the facts, of course)
