Power-down or sleep mode?

Trouble with sleep mode is that the fans keep whirring and they soon
wear out!

Check your BIOS settings and see if there is an option to have the fans
running continuously or not. I know on a HP laptop that I had one
could have the fans running all the time when it was turned on.
