Keyboard Problems - please help!!!

Folks

Just wanted to say "thanks" to all those who took the time to respond - I
REALLY do appreciate it!

Now to the meat of the matter!

You ever have a "situation" where the results cannot be explained by any
known science, phenomenon, alignment of the stars or just S$#thouse luck?
In the Navy we used to call this PFM (pure f$#king magic).

Well this is one of those "situations".

I tried most of the suggestions that you folks were nice enough to
contribute. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to solve my problem. So I just
kept muddling along trying to make the 'puter work as best as possible.

Then, I came home a few days later from work - and miracle of miracles -
the keyboard works the way it is supposed to??? I have no rational
explanation for this. I hadn't downloaded any updates recently nor made
any system changes that would have affected the hardware.

I just happened! PFM strikes again!
