SOLVED IE

Damned intrusive. Tried to download Photoscape and IE popped open and wouldn't close. How do I jettison IE at least as much as possible?

If IE is set up as your default browser then whenever you click a URL or link it will open in IE; to change that you need to change Firefox to your default browser. Gp tp Control Panel > Default Programs, set your default programs. Click on Firefox and choose "set this program as default".
