Combining many VCF files is simple, but duplicates need to be handled carefully. When contacts come from Gmail Outlook, iPhone, Android or old backups, the same contact may appear with different phone numbers or email IDs.
Best way to handle it:
- Keep a backup of all original VCF files.
- Add all VCF files or the full VCF folder together.
- Check duplicate fields like first name, last name, email, and mobile number.
- For bulk files, A merge vCard tool can help as it supports single files, multiple VCF files, and folder mode.
- It can remove duplicate contact fields and save the result as one vCard file.
- After export, open the final VCF once and check a few contacts manually.
This keeps the contact file cleaner and safer before importing anywhere.
Alternative Automated Way:
This way can be better when you have a small contact list, but when you have thousands of contact lists and lots of duplicate entries in VCF file, then it will become very irritating and time-consuming so according to my personal experiences, using an advanced features bulk file compatible utility like
Softaken Merge vCard Software. This tool can easily handle multiple large files at one time and securely combine them into a clean and structured vCard file without creating any duplicate entries.
It scans the whole file and removes duplicates while joining VCF files and ensures all data remains safe and accurate. I also used this solution a while ago.
