If you are making a jump, you might as well go ahead and jump all the way to Windows 10. After all Windows 10 is a free upgrade to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. I skipped Windows 8.1, I didn't want anything to do with it. But when they offered Windows 10 for a free upgrade, staying on Windows 7 was kinda pointless. Sure there are reasons to stay on Windows 7, but there are just as many reasons to move on.

Welcome to the forums Randy! I'd second Clifford's comments - Windows 7 is great, but it's now 2 generations behind.
