No, Google Workspace does not natively support direct MBOX file import. Users cannot simply upload an MBOX file into Gmail or the Google Workspace Admin Console. Instead, the common workaround is to use an email client like Mozilla Thunderbird with IMAP synchronization or a dedicated migration tool.
I faced the same confusion while moving old mailbox data into my Google Workspace account. I expected Gmail to recognize the MBOX file directly, but there was no import option available. After trying different methods, I connected my Google Workspace account to Thunderbird through IMAP, imported the MBOX files using ImportExportTools NG, and then synced the emails to Gmail folders manually.
The process worked, but it became slow and difficult with large mailbox files. Later, I used BLR MBOX Converter Tool, which made the migration much easier by transferring all emails while preserving attachments, folder hierarchy, and email formatting safely.
