I'm planning to do a clean install later due to a new SSD.

My Windows 7 Home Premium CD is an Upgrade CD for Windows Vista.
Can I just use the Windows 7 ISO, do a full install and use that CD key or would I need to install Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7?

Thanks

Legally you have to own a licensed copy of Vista for that machine. You wouldn't have to install it, you could use what is often referred to as a double install of W7 instead, but you do need to own the Vista license as well as the W7 upgrade activation code.

Kalyan_kty, You could ask Dell support, but it's highly unlikely. Are you sure it's not on a sticker on the computer?
