WinXP PC Can't See Win7 PC On Network

When I originally set up my Win7 machine, I checked all the items to share
(e.g. Docs, Photos, Printers, etc), and I even got that Homegroup password
to write down. However, my WinXP PC can't see any of the files or folders
on the Win7 machine. Is there a step I missed? Do I have to disable the
Win7 firewall, and/or change its workgroup name?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As I understand it, Homegroup won't play with anything but Windows 7 (maybe
Vista as well - not sure).

Set up an old style network and all should be fine.

No, you were right in the first place--just Windows 7, and not Vista.

Had the same problem just renamed to mshome as the rest of the XP boxes
were set as works fine now this is not the correct way but it works. The
correct way is to set to work network & then all should play nice with
each other
