Trouble with Word 2003 document

I know you will tell me to update but I have been working on family history book for years and hate to start a new learning curve when I am almost done.
I have read may solutions for deleting paragraph marks but cannot get any of them to work for me on this 200+ document.
In other words I cannot delete, cut or anything else with last few pages of my document
Sorry cannot find "attachment" icon to show you what is happening. Help please.

Click the "Upload a File" button to add an attachment.

I seem to recall hitting a limit to the number of pages, likely caused by a memory limitation, so try splitting the document into two pieces.
