IE 9 download problems

Has anyone had problems downloading some file types in IE 9. For
instance when I try to download my T4 Slip (similar to a us W-2) from my
employer's site the file name is something like "BS file name_pdf" or if
I try to download a file from Apple iCloud I get
"download_exported_document?job_id=112589X96X49X8X5:com_microsoft_excel_xls:1330220916281&file_name=Oil
Change Schedule_xls"

I have tried challenging the "_" to a "." but the file ends up being
corrupted. If I use Firefox, Safari, or SeaMonkey everything works fine?

Any suggestions?

GFY!

The truth of the matter is I have had this problem for a long time and
spent a considerable amount of time looking (searching) for the
solution. Since I had a viable alternative in secondary browsers I
always tired easy and moved on before finding the solution.

I used to be very active in many Windows groups (Win95, WinME and WinXP
to a lesser amount) but as Windows got more reliable I got less
interested in troubleshooting and in turn found I was less able to help
people.

I am technically savvy, i.e. build my desktops from scratch, can program
in many languages, can out score my wife on a Windows Office
certification test and have never read the study material, can find
solutions to problems by web searches 98% of the time.

It was because of my past contributions to to supporting others that I
finally turned to this group...

It was just a coincidence that I stumbled on the solution at the same time.

I assume you are the resident troll so I won't waste any more of my time
on you!
