First my rig:

RAM: Kingston 9905471-001.A00LF 2GB Twin=4GB
Integrated: ATI Radeon HD 4250 (RS880P)
Creative Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350) Sound Card
Drive
Drive #1 - WDC WD5000AAKX-001CA0 (465 GB)
Drive #2 - WDC WD1600JS-22MHB0 (149 GB)
Drive #3 - WDC WD5000AAKS-00UU3A0 (465 GB)

Drive #5 - WDC WD600BB-00CAA1 (55 GB)

Hi forest.lawn and Welcome to The Forum.

More importantly than your rig. What starts up when Windows starts?

Type msconfig.exe in the Start Menu 'Search' window and enter. When MSConfig opens, have a look under the start up tab.

Five minutes is seriously excessive (Christ! I moan if I get above 100 seconds!!).
