Alert : Your PC may be in danger! Risk: High. Get protection now! Buy XXX!

Sounds familiar? These are how most scareware alerts are worded! Scareware are those software with malafide intent, that scare you into buying their products.

I knew there were several reasons I quit using ZoneAlarm over 5 years ago! This just adds fuel to the fire!

I ditched Zone Alarm years ago, for the same reason, as they have resorted to hard sell scare tactics before. I used Sygate Pro for the past seven years, until I purchased a new desktop. Unfortunately, Sygate doesn't run on Windows 7, so I had to learn how to make a few tweaks to the Windows 7 Firewall rules to monitor both inbound and outbound connections. After several attempts, it finally passed Steve Gibson's ShieldsUp! test.

Although Zone Alarm receives enthusiastic acclaim from some members of this forum, I have to give it a thumbs down.
