Mine would probably be the Bourne Triology. All those new movies like Avatar just look unnatural to me. Too much special effects.

What about you guys?

I have several favorite movies.

The Outlaw Josie Wales
V For Vendetta
The Bank Job
Star Trek 2009
Dr. Strangelove
Fail Safe
The Searchers
October Sky
The Thin Man Series
Gettysburg

I'll list more as I remember them. Most of the new movies these days can't hold a candle to the great movies from Hollywood's Golden Era.

True.

I have to admit I prefer all those old cartoons like Tom & Jerry or The flintstones to all the crap (sorry about this expression) that comes out now like the Simpsons.

Too much effects nowadays in films.

My all time favorite is The Godfather trilogy! Also loved Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
Anything by Q Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez.
On the lighter side I like comedies such as My Cousin Vinny. I still pick up new hilarious lines in that flick after 20 viewings.
I'm not much into horror flicks.

Me neither. Seriously whats the point in whatching Saw?
I prefer much more life-like movies, like Saving Private Ryan or Das Boot.
Das Boot is the story of a german sub during the war, at it is really interesting to see the life of those poor sailors.

Sadly, french movies really do suck, so I won't be mentioning any.

I have the Director's Cut of Das Boot. Excellent movie!

I do like The Professional or also it was called Leon, that was a French film if I remember. Natalie Portman's first movie.

I also have the directors cut. Nice story, but sad ending. Very realistic!

The movie starts pretty funnily, but then life starts getting hard during the war, and not many will survive. (actually, only one guy survived...)
