X-marks Sync being discontinued.

I got a message today advising me that the X-marks Sync plug-in for FF will cease operating in Janurary 10 2011.
Reasons stated it being a cost/money thing.

It will be a pity as I've used Xmarks for quite a long time and been very happy with it.

It's a shame. It's going to be hard finding another cross-browser sync.

I think that it may get a reprieve, as they have left open a 90 day window for a purchaser to come in... Hopefully it will get saved .

I'd even be happy to pay a subscription fee if it was not excessive.

I tried one of the other sync programs that Xmarks suggested which was Firefox Sync. It's rubbish by comparison.
Hopefully Xmarks will get a buyer/sponser.

I'd like to see a version of the Xmarks server that I can host myself.
