A few days ago I went to Duxford Airshow, near Cambridge in the UK. We saw this 1909 Blériot XI in the hanger, which was amazing in itself... a 100 year old aircraft:



Even better was that this is the oldest airworthy aircraft in existance!

Later on that day it took to the skies, which was a sight worth seeing :)

It would have been a hell of a time to be alive back then. Except for the "no computers" part.

Yep, that pilot has some balls! It was so easily buffeted by the wind, but it looked great fun to fly.

wow, I heard about that on the news, but seeing those photos makes you think, how did the plane manage it, one of mans best inventions :) along with the computer.
