When you say the recover CD doesn't work, what, exactly, do you mean? I
your computer configured to boot from the CD

Dear alias

The System Recovery CD does not work for going back to a fresh windows system

don't know why
Windows can restart in what was called save mode in previous version and tr
t
repair itself
What it didn't detect however is that the primary partition was hidden or no
active
I use gag4.0 as bootmanager
I havew resolved the issue, because proppably i overlooked the the hidde
partition

So the problem is solved

Another question could be how to start Ubuntu 11.0.4 on a second disk, i can'
get it working

Thanks for any hel

I didn't boot from the Rescue CD, but Windows during boot registered a faile
boot
I used the rescue-CD earlier when Windows wouldn't start at all because gru
failed with an error 5
Then I was afraid i couldn't get to my Windows partition at all. At tha
momen
I tried to re-install Windows from scratch and that failed
After many hours I found GAG bootmanager after which I could restart my
Window
as it was before grub misbehaved
Windows 7 is on the internal hard disk, with a logical partition D
I wouldn't know how to remove the disk
Ubuntu is installed on the first part of a removable USB disk
The second part is another NTFS partition

Thanks

Lambert
