Windows 7 too quick to label a program as 'Not Responding'

Hi -

In Wondows XP, I was used to doing rather extensive operations in Xnews,
which after a couple of minutes, would result in winXP saying that Xnews
was not responding. After upgrading to windows 7, I find that Windows 7
would label Xnews as not responding after only 15-20 seconds. Is there any
way to increase this time period?

I agree it comes up too fast and it's annoying, but I find if I ignore that
message the program usually comes back to life on its own without me doing
anything.
