windows 7 explorer.exe not responding frequently!!!

every time i press folders or press the start menu or anything related to explorer.exe,, the explorer goes: explorer is not responding, then it restarts!
what is wrong with it, i had tried sfc/scannow, it says no problem with the system.

can anyone help me!???

is there a way to extend the programs waiting time like when the program starts to not respond?

Lizi,

This is pretty hard to respond to without more detail. There is no "extend waiting time" setting. Basically if you ask the program to run, then it should run until something causes it to stop running.

Tell us more about your machine, the software you've installed, and so on. Also, do you visit lots of websites that you don't go to frequently? You might have picked up a virus.
