Win7 for laptop

Does anyone know if you can make a cut down version of Win7 for an older laptop with limited HD space?..Handles Win7 RC OK just the HD space
Have limited use for a laptop, holidays only to keep in contact with things, so it is not a priority to replace at this stage..

I would not reccomend it, although I have seen eference to a "Lite" version somewhere. Windows 7 is complete and as compact as a versatile user would wish, imo.
But maybe a better course would be to invest in a large USB plug or an external (USB) hard disk?

There are some very nice new Laptops around ATM and the prices are very good (maybe a Christmas Pres to self ? )
