Why Outlook or Gmail Does Not Accept Excel Contact Files?

I recently tried to import my contacts into Outlook/Gmail using an Excel (.xls / .xlsx) file, but the import option does not accept the Excel file at all. In some cases, it shows an error, and in others, the file format is simply not supported. I have all my contact details (name, phone number, email, address, etc.) properly organized in Excel, but still Outlook and Gmail refuse to upload them directly. Why do Outlook or Gmail not accept Excel contact files? Looking for a reliable solution.

Email clients like Outlook and Gmail do not accept Excel files for contact import because Excel is not a supported contact format. Excel files can control unnecessary columns or custom formatting that email apps cannot understand. That’s why importing Excel contacts directly usually fails or imports incomplete data. To convert an Excel file to email clients, you have to choose a standard format like VCF. VCF file supports all email clients like Outlook, Thunderbird, Android, iPhone, Lotus Notes, Gmail and iCloud. SoftakenSoftware Excel to vCard Converter helps solve this problem by converting Excel contacts into the proper VCF format, which Outlook and Gmail can import easily. The tool allows a preview of Excel data before conversion, so users can check everything. The field mapping feature helps match Excel columns with the vCard format correctly. Without an Excel to vCard conversion, users often struggle with errors or missing contacts in email applications. One more thing, it works fully offline, so you can run this tool on any Windows version.
