USB drives are not working with windows 7. It does not detect it, some USb drives get detected after a long time, but crashes when copying files.

Do these drives work on other PCs ok? Confirming this should show if it's a drive problem or a PC hardware/software problem.

Sometimes there are different chips used with the front and read USB headers, so see if it works on another port.

Which motherboard do you have and are there any unrecognised devices showing up in device manager?

HI Ian,

KIndly give me a solution for the USB problem

The USB drives are working fine on other pC's with XP and vista.

The mother board i am using is INtel 41RQ mother board. There are 8 USB ports tried in all, the same result.

The first time i put a USB device it recognized, but when i copied files, it was really slow.

But when i removed it and put again.

sometimes i get a unrecognized device message, sometimes it shows a new drive is there, but when i open/explore it, it does not respond
