System Restore unsuccessful

Because of very frequent BSODs, I have tried to restore from a time before they started. However the attempts always fail with a message telling me that a certain file could not be restored. As it happens, that file is one that I do not want restored, as it was some downloaded trial app no longer desired.

What do I do to get the sys restore process to go forward, ignoring that offending file?

Hi highmeadowhiker,

Have you tried running System Restore from within Safe Mode? Sadly it will be trying to re-install the unwanted software. You'll just have to try and remove all traces of it again if you are successful.
