I think MS have made this difficult so as to deter all but the
strongest. It looks like a kind of survival route that Ernest Shackleton
would have had trouble with.

Highlight drive/ right click/ Properties/ Sharing/ Advanced Sharing/
tick "Share this folder"/ Permissions ...... and a bit more.

yes, of course I've done that a lot before posting, still have troubles
to access the disks (with differents names allowed, all checked as
"total control" write and read)

In wich mode must be set the local network ? Home, public, entreprise ?

Do we have to check the sharing for "printers, pictures, movies" before
or not ?

None of those settings should affect the sharing of a volume option; at
least not as far as I know (AFAIK for the texters).

You'll have to tell us more about two things;
1. What happens when you try to share the entire volume?
2. How close have you got to any success in network sharing at all?

First, thanks for your reply.

with same settings for disk sharing, sometimes it works, sometimes :

1) cannot acces the disk at all or
2) i can acces the disk but not open / wrrite folders / files or
2 bis) - within this same sate / disk : i can have acces at SOME folders
but not the other ones ...

2. How close have you got to any success in network sharing at all?
I had no problems with XP, the sharing was rather easy .. (if that was
the question)

Other answer, I can more successively share FOLDERS, but thats not cool
at all fot my purposes, for my way of working in lan .. (and some
folders, I cant, don't know why ... )

I'm on 7 x64, flashdisk / 2core / 6 Go DRR

Note : got no password for network or session, i dont like it.

see captures here - (in pictures, all boxes / users are checked full
control)

You have to go into Advanced Sharing and add user ' everyone' and then
allow full access for 'everyone'. I don't know if you can share the
entire boot drive 'C' as I only share my entire 'd' drive. Will find out
one of these days !!

Ah, maybe I was a bit quick off the blocks there.
What is completely pulic and completely available is the content of
http://nobody4.free.fr/ , a link which you posted to this NG. But maybe
that is on some website; and you want it to be available.
As it is, I can read everything in that hierarchy.

of course .. I thought you were some excellent hacker.
Of course its HTTP ... !

Problem solved on W7 :
you must re-check the shares using MMC console, and re-check "total
control" where its does, "and a a bit more" ...

Thanks for your concern, Mr Ed.

You just asked a question, that will get you nothing more than
ridicule, than a direct answer, by the Three MUSKATEERS..
Hope you have better luck than I tried...

The quality of an answer is sometimes at least partially dependent
upon the quality of the question.

You have such a strange collection of what looks like bric-a-brac on
your website.
OK, so I made a mistake and I'm sorry I caused you some anxiety. But why
do you keep all that je-ne-sais-quoi? It looks like the contents of a
sac à main belonging to some old dear suffering from dementia.

well : very cleaver : what I've already said myself !
Of course artistic sac à main is dementia, when normal boring content
are in the right way .. classic.

Thanks anyway for your help.
