scanner problems

windows picks up when my scanner is turned on but no programs no it is there , what r i doing wrong. it is an Acer640U

For Vista you'll need an aftermark app called VueScan. I am using my 640U under vista 64bit. Tried other methods like trying to get the xp driver to work but never had any success. Had it up and running with in minutes with this, and it supports allot of older scanners.

It appears Acer has dropped all support for scanners period. I'm not finding any links for scanners at all for Acer.

I did however find Windows XP drivers - http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/1670/. You may need to use https://www.w7forums.com/application-compatibility-mode-t314.html for this driver to work.
