Hi
if i start Resmon as part of task manager
or by itself by typing Resmon in the start menu
all i get is a window with "file monitor help"

on top

nothing in the window.Doesnt work. It did at one time.

those three are active titles and i can click on them but
nothing ever happens
Resmon id the System32 folder is the right release 7/13/2009.
no previous versions.
Taskmanager runs OK

want to also add the Perfmon does show up as a process
Security settings seem ok
by comparing to another PC

thanks

Some things to consider:

Corrupted file?

Replaced by malware?

Does it work satisfactorily when you get there via the Task Manager?

Does running SFC help?

I just copied the Resmon module to another PC and it works fine

both Malwarebytes and Norton say there is no problem.

i show it uses only 4 Meg of memory
it should run alot more maybe 40.
Does this call any other processes ?
does it need a service ?

I can't answer your question, but I can ask whether you tried my third
idea.

yes i tried SFC didnt find anything

aside from that.

I check the other DLL's that it Resmon.exe uses all had the right
dates and versions.
Using Process explorer i see that wdc.dll is not in the thread ,
but it is in system32 and is the right version.

actually all i see is msvcrt.dll and perfmon loaded as threads

i did install IE 10 that may have done it. But i did remove it
still have problem
Maybe the C++ runtime libraries are screwed up

Have you tried copying the resmon.exe right into your own home folder
and running it from there?
