Quicken sounds disappearing

Hi all: I'm using Quicken Premiere 2010 on a pc running on Win7/HP/64.
Periodically, the Quicken sounds disappear. I don't know if the problem is
in QP or Win7, but each time it's happened I've gone into the "Sound" applet
in Control Panel, and on the "Sounds" tab I've re-associated the events with
the desired sounds. Also reset the sounds preferences in QP. Then, after
running the program a few times the sounds disappear and I've returned to
Control Panel/Sound/Sounds to see that the associations have vanished.
Anyone know why this happens, and how to determine if it's a Win7 problem or
a QP problem? Is there a Win7 configuration setting other than the one in
CP/Sound/Sounds that would fix this? There have been no other problems or
unauthorized changes in any system or other program sounds. Thanks for your
